Your formatted resume is the one you typically use when applying for a job. However, some online job application tools only accept text files. So here is an example of how your formatted resume may look versus a text version of the same document. In the text version, all formatting has been removed such as italics, bold, larger font sizes, specific font types, lines, etc. The bolded headlines have been replaced by making headlines ALL CAPS and setting them off with three equals signs on each side. Bulleted lists are created manually using two asterisks instead of a bullet. All text is left aligned at the margin. Additional lines of space replace horizontal lines.
